When Cali comes to Michigan

When California's own Monica & Rob initially Skyped with me back in August of 2012, I was taken immediately with their creativity and resourcefulness.  Monica does graphic design and besides working for Google, Rob dabbles as a blacksmith!  This, my friends, is a recipe for a great wedding!

We worked on these nuptials for the better part of a year and all that hard work paid off!!  The baroque-inspired florals (from Kevin Miller of Twigs & Branches...of course) were an AMAZING focal point in the Raisin River Room of Weller's Carriage House in Saline and all of the little details came together SO well.  It took me about 2 months and no less than 20 bakers to find someone capable of creating the bride's tiered Swedish Princess Cake and countless other hours and phone calls figuring out a way to hang twinkle lights over the dance floor in a venue that won't allow anything to be fixed to walls, ceilings or floors (including chords).  But I have to admit, the details made this wedding - almost as much as the couple's DIY projects - from their very own working letter press, to the hand-fordged wedding rings (remember, Rob's a blacksmith),  to their completely creative wedding website and Monica-created invitations!  I can't wait to see the professional photos... but, like always on these recent-wedding posts, my iPhone photos will have to do...for now.
